I am so glad I bought this CD. Being a TV and movie music geek, I extremely enjoy listening to these TV themes, an element that has sadly begun to fade from network TV while being resurrected on services such as HBO who gives full time and attention, as it should, to the theme segment and its listing of credits. Some of these themes appear on TVT's All-Time Top 100 TV Themes CD Collection, which I vociferously recommend because it contains all ORIGINAL THEMES not knock-offs, which I deplore. Since this CD is dedicated strictly to NBC shows it showcases themes I do not own, such as the NBC Sunday Mystery Movie theme, music I haven't heard in a dog's age. I enjoy the artform of the TV theme and even those themes from shows that I did not watch when aired. Call it nostalgia or semtimentality, I don't care, listening to this music harkens back to a better network TV era for me since there is no room for Unreality TV. Also, there are two nagging issues for me. One, where is the siren sound on Ironside Quentin Tarantino used in Kill Bill? Second, will someone somewhere please ask Mike Post to make the actual non-modified version of the Rockford Files theme, as it aired on TV, available? The version on this collection and the one on the collection I mentioned earlier are exactly the same - a more synthesizer-based piece of music. Since it is one of my favorite shows of all time I would like to have it. I also wouldn't mind having the phone ring, a message and Jim Rockford's famous "This is Jim Rockford. At the tone leave your name and message. I'll get back to ya." and then hear the actual theme. That would seal it.
